City staff recently toured an Ameron International's Water Transmission Group (Ameron) facility. Ameron is a pipe manufacturing plant specializing in building highly engineered concrete and steel pipe systems, which are typically used in transmission pipelines and treatment plants to provide long-term water conveyance. The company is under contract with the City's general contractor, CDM Constructors Inc., to provide the raw and treated water transmission pipeline systems for the City's Delta Water Supply Project.
The manufacturing plant is located in Tracy, CA, thus putting Stockton residents to work and providing a boost to the local economy. Pipeline construction work has started and will continue through April 2011.
