About the Project The Delta Water Supply Project is under construction. When complete, it will provide a new supplemental high quality water supply for the Stockton Metropolitan Area. The project is necessary to replace declining surface water resources and protect groundwater supplies. It will provide for current and future water needs in the Stockton Metropolitan Area. Water from the Delta will be pumped through miles of underground pipeline located along Eight Mile Road to a new state-of-the-art surface water treatment plant. The water treatment plant will be located north of Eight Mile Road on Lower Sacramento Road. The Delta Water Supply Project Intake and Pump Station Facility is funded in part thanks to a $12.5M Proposition 84 Grant from the State of California, Department of Water Resources under the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006. |
